Please, mr. Aoshima, do NOT try twirling a rapier. A rapier is a XVI-XVII century, 110 cm stiff blade weighting around 1.2 Kg. I think you mean an modern epee (a 90 cm blade, 0.77 Kg sword) or a foil (same length, 0.5 Kg). I know, I know, many peopkle coflate these weapons; but I guess you ARE the kind of person to actually CARE about the difference.
There's a problem with the theatrical sword spinning. Today we have -morons- internet experts confidently claiming that the whole chiburi was never a real thing but a modern theatrical invention. Even strongly arguing it to people who has been actually practicing both Iaido and Kenjutsu. Such is life.

Zatoichi´s sword is shorter. Maybe I´m wrong but, basically, Zatoichi uses a wakizashi.
